Registering a coupon

If you don't yet have the ODIN app installed, refer to the other download guides in  this section .

General steps

After opening the ODIN app, use your coupon number to register on the study.

After successfully registering with your coupon, and if your study has consent forms enabled, you will see a series of pages, to which you should agree by clicking NEXT and then AGREE.

After Agreeing to the consent forms, you will go to the home screen. You may get some red banners warning for missing permissions. For the enable overlay permission one, just search for ODIN and turn “Allow display over other apps” on.

For battery optimization, an alert dialog will pop up. Click Go, then the battery optimization screen will open. Click on the dropdown, select All, and search for ODIN; then click on it and select don’t optimize.

You may also see a missing permission banner, which has to do with the study’s sensors. When you click on it, an alert dialog will pop up; click Go to open your app’s settings screen, click on Permissions and allow them. Make sure you select “Allow all the time”.

If your screen looks like this, It means you have all the permissions, and your app is working as expected.

Disable battery optimization.

Your Android device likely has battery optimization technology that limits or stops apps (such as ODIN) from running in the background in order to extend battery life. When battery optimization is turned on, ODIN may not capture data or trigger rules reliably. To avoid such issues, we highly recommend you turn off your device's battery optimizer for ODIN.
