Coupon status

Each coupon has a status, which signifies in which state it is. When registering a coupon to ODIN, it should normally move from the "Inactive" to the "Active" state. Once the coupon is active, it cannot be reused, unless it's set to the  re-register state . This, like other status changes, can be done from the ODIN website, where you can choose between:

Consent withdrawn.

The participant has asked to no longer form part of the study. ODIN will stop collecting data, and the participant will see something like this:

Consent revoked.

The researcher has decided to exclude a participant from the study. This option is, in practical terms, equivalent to withdrawing.
The participant will see something like this:

Re-register.

When moved to this state, the coupon will be enabled for reuse. This is useful when a participant wants to keep using ODIN but has to switch to another phone (e.g., due to a malfunctioning device), or when the ODIN app was freshly installed on the same device (e.g., after an update). If you are considering using this option, refer to  this document .
The participant will see something like this:

Payout Available.

When a coupon reaches its end of study and we "owe it something" (i.e., they have earned any kind of incentives which have not been reported as paid on the Payments page), the coupon will be moved to the Payout Pending state.
The participant will see something like this (if there are no custom instructions):
Or this (if there are custom instructions):

Payout Completed.

When a coupon reaches its end of study and we "owe it nothing" (i.e., all of the incentives they have earned have been reported as paid on the Payments page), the coupon will be moved to the Payout Completed state.
The participant will see something like this (if there are no custom instructions):
